Tomfoolery

Graham, James and myself, in front of the famous Wall at Gwen Villa, London 1999. This was shortly after I hid Soren's garlic, in a failed bid to protect the local air quality.

Circa 1997, except for the Fro shot in Blackheath, London, 2000.

At the Gorge to see Phish, before I had any real, concrete idea how annoying hippies could be. This trip was awesome. The next one would not be so enjoyable...tedious would be a better word. At least we had fun tormenting the prevailing herds of trustafarian dolts with our car stereo, giving them a good blast of the local Christian Evangelist talk radio station and generally disrupting their morning potsmoking routine. Man, they sure didn't like that! "Wuh wuh wuh, get that shit off mmkay, it's not cool!" "SILENCE, FOOLS!!! You will not censor God! Heathens!!!!" Hilarious. Let's see, what else? Oh yeah, Ryan and myself spent a healthy amount of time pretending to be Don Cherry. "IT'S HOCKEY NIGHT TONIGHT!! COUPLE A GOOD GUYS GOIN' AT IT, NOBODY GOT HURT, THAT'S A BEAUTY!!!" This made us feel more Canadian, which we didn't mind one bit. Scared the crap out of the soap-dodgers too.

What did I learn? Lack of intelligence is the same, no matter how it smells.

Found these artificial horses completely by accident, on the way to the Gorge that first time. A couple hours after dark, we decided to pull off the highway and camp for the night. After hiking up the sandy hillside, we set our tents up amongst the Sage brush, under a crystal clear sky filled with thousands of stars. From somewhere nearby, there was the sound of bullfrogs and crickets; off in the distance, a solitary yellowed light, flickering through the miles of silent heat waves still coming off the desert rocks. Other than that, we didn't see much of anything until the sun came up in the morning. What an awesome place! That's the Columbia River in the background. Here's some info on Wild Horse Monument, if anyone is wondering where it is: http://www.worldisround.com/articles/7144/
